About Event

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Excel Engineering College (Autonomous), Komarapalayam, is organizing a Five-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Next-Generation Mechanical Engineering: Integrating AI, Smart Manufacturing and Sustainable Technologies" from 22 June 2026 to 26 June 2026.

The programme aims to provide faculty members with comprehensive exposure to emerging technologies transforming the field of mechanical engineering. The FDP covers Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Smart Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Digital Twin Technology, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, Future Mobility Technologies, Sustainable Manufacturing, and Advanced Engineering Systems.

A unique feature of this FDP is the implementation of the Team-based Online Projects (TOP) concept initiated by Prof. S.K. Saha, IIT Delhi, enabling collaborative learning, peer interaction, and practical problem-solving through interdisciplinary team activities.

The programme is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry while promoting innovation, research, and technology-driven teaching practices.
